Getting there

A rental car is highly recommended for reaching the Zagori region.

Car: Drive from Ioannina via the EO20 highway towards Konitsa/Zagori, turning off toward Aristi or Klidonia.	45-60 mins	€10-15 fuel	A rental car is highly recommended as public transport in Zagori is very limited. Parking is available near the main bridges.
Tour: Book a guided rafting or hiking tour with local operators based in Zagori or Ioannina.	3-5 hours total	€45 - €65	Most rafting tours include local shuttle minibus transfers to get you back to your car between the finish point (Klidonia) and the start (Aristi).

The river is accessible year-round. May to October are the best months for hiking and rafting. Visit in May or June for the highest water levels.

What to pack

Bring neoprene water shoes or secure sandals with grip for the rocky riverbeds. Pack a microfiber towel and warm fleece, as temperatures drop in the gorge shade.

For rafting, wear swimwear under your provided wetsuit. Bring a dry bag to protect your phone and valuables on the water. Use a reusable bottle to drink local spring water.
